X1‑161 is a high‑performance epoxy resin system specifically developed for the manufacture of composite components requiring high cosmetic surface quality and a high glass transition temperature (Tg). The system is particularly well suited to premium automotive applications, where both superior aesthetic standards and elevated thermal performance are essential. A maximum DMA Tg of up to 160 °C can be achieved using the standard 135 °C cure cycle, delivering excellent thermal stability for components operating in demanding service conditions. X1‑161 demonstrates good resistance to UV exposure and prolonged elevated temperatures, ensuring long‑term durability as well as sustained surface appearance over time. The system is available with a selection of lightweight surface plies designed to optimize cosmetic finish, in addition to carefully selected heavier reinforcement fabrics to accommodate a wide range of structural and manufacturing requirements.
